Six years ago, out of the blue, we were invited by a friend to visit Sandy Bay to view her caravan which was for sale. We weren’t looking for a second home but decided to take a look regardless. As we drove through Hambleton and the surrounding area, we took in the beautifully tended flower beds and lovely houses enroute and became interested to see more. Having never heard of Knott End before, we were completely overwhelmed by how neat and clean the village is – it has an air of quaintness about it – it has to be seen. Driving into Sandy Bay Caravan Park, it felt pleasant and tranquil, and against my better judgement, I immediately, and absolutely, loved the caravan! – it honestly felt as though it was meant to be. Needless to say, within a week, we were the proud owners of our lovely static home – our bolt hole – our quiet place to come and relax and we’ve never once waivered from this feeling. People on the site are so friendly and the owners (Eric and Charlotte) are lovely and very attentive to everyone’s needs. There’s no club house on site, which suits us down to the ground. Life is just so easy here.
Directly from Sandy Bay, Knott End village is easily accessed via a gate on the site (for which you’re given your own key), and it’s around a pleasant 20-minute walk down the coastal path where you can breathe in the sea air. In Knott End you’ll find anything and everything you could possibly need. Excellent quality fresh produce is sold at the local butchers, bakers and fruit shop and a Co-op and Spar are on hand for literally anything else. There are various eateries too (tried and tested) that cater for everyone’s taste and where you can sit and wile away an hour just people watching. Fancy a round of golf? – there’s a great golf club in the village which is very welcoming for both social and playing membership. You name it, it’s on your doorstep. Compare life in your town or city – Sandy Bay is complete tranquillity. It’s hard to put in a few words how wonderful the place is, but not hard to state the negatives, in a word – NONE!
