Preesall & Knott End

Knott End is a large village ‘Over Wyre’. Sandy Bay has easy access to Knott End via the coastal path or road network. The attractive Esplanade is ideal for a stroll with an ice cream. You can see see out over the beach to the Lake District and beyond. Knott End golf course occupies a beautiful position on the banks of the River Wyre. The Fleetwood to Knott End passenger ferry operates from the Ferry Slip at the end of The Esplanade every 30 minutes. Listen out for the claxon. Here you can find a tribute in the form of a statue. The statue is of the famous artist – LS Lowry. He featured Knott End in many of his paintings as he found inspiration from the area.

There will be certain for something to catch your eye from the wonderful array of independent shops in the village, whether it be local produce, homeware or gifts. If your setting out on a stroll there are a choice of shops to stock your picnic basket up from, alternatively pick up some fish and chips and enjoy them on the seafront.
