Poulton le Fylde

Sandy Bay local town Poulton

Poulton le Fylde, commonly shortened to Poulton was an agricultural settlement, which grew in size and prosperity when the port at Skippool became an important trade centre in the early 1800’s. Poulton has always been a market town and holds a farmers market on the fourth Saturday of every month. The weekly market takes place every Monday with stalls in the Market Square.

Poulton is a pleasant town with a good mix of independent shops and high street names. There is a fantastic choice of places to eat and drink, from pubs to cafes, restaurants and an ice cream parlour. If you fancy a night out, Poulton offers a relaxed atmosphere with an abundance of places to choose from.

St Chad’s is the church in the centre of Poulton. In the Spring time it is definitely worth having a look at the fabulous display of crocus in the grounds.

Poulton provides the hub for public transport links to further afield. The immaculate train station offers links to Blackpool, or Preston and beyond.
