From Knott End you can catch the ferry to Fleetwood, a seaside town with a rich heritage that bursts into life at the towns Museum. Learn about the maritime history and the building of a new seaside town plus a fascinating insight into the people of Fleetwood. There’s a great shopping experience to be had at Fleetwood Market with over 150 indoor and outdoor stalls to tickle your fancy. If entertaining children try some pottery painting at Glazey Days, great fun for all ages.

Garstang, just a 20 minute drive from Sandy Bay, is a jewel in this unspoilt part of Lancashire. An historic market town with a pretty location on the River Wyre. Try the heritage trail to get your bearings and on the other side of the river is Greenhalgh Castle with alleyways lined with shops and lovely places to eat and drink. The traditional market, held on Thursdays, has a great variety of stalls including household items, clothes and plants.

The area is a starting point for lovely walks, the Wyre Way starts at Morecambe Bay, passes through Garstang and ends in the Forest of Bowland. You can also add to this leisurely strolls along the riverbank or Lancaster Canal.
