The Setting

Sandy Bay is situated beside the coast, with private gated access directly onto the sea wall pathway. The coastal path forms part of our boundary and this level footpath can be accessed from the Park.

Immediately as you step onto the coastal pathway you are surrounded by fabulous views – the Lake District, Lancaster, the Bowland Fells and Fleetwood can all be seen.

A 10 minute walk along the path takes you to Knott End. Knott End has the mouth of the River Wyre located on its eastern side and Morcambe Bay to the North. Knott End on Sea in the early 20th Century was an important port with a large fishing fleet. Nowadays a popular spot for tourists looking for an attractive seaside village.

Knott End has everything for the needs of the caravan owner to be self sufficient, without the need to load the car up with a ‘big shop’! There is a great range of local independent shops including The Hindquarter Butchers, a bakery, greengrocers, DIY shop and pet shop. There is also a Co-op, Spar and chemist. Knott End also offers a range of places to eat with a number of café’s and pubs to choose from, a bowling green, an 18 hole golf course and a library. Also in the village you will find a great Fish & Chip shop, an Indian, two Chinese takeaways and a pizza shop.

From Knott End you can take a short ride on the passenger ferry across to Fleetwood, with its plethora of shops and large indoor market to explore. From Fleetwood there is an excellent tramway system into Cleveleys and Blackpool.
