An Early Spring at Sandy Bay?

Landscaping maintenance

The weather has finally improved allowing some seasonal landscaping maintenance to begin. The trees around the perimeter of Sandy Bay have been pruned, this will allow them to thicken up and improve the screening once spring arrives and the leaves grow. What has been noticeable is that some weeds have started to grow – this is really early, and hopefully signifies an early spring? The weeds have been sprayed off and the park has maintained its tidy image even on the drab days.

We have had some spectacular days, with amazingly clear views from Preesall over to the Lake District and Bowland Fells. The snow topped mountains look almost within touching distance. This has been a welcome relief after the wet weather in December.

The largest holiday home we have ever had on the park has been delivered this week. The ABI Ambleside has now been sited and looks splendid on its pitch. This large 42 x 14ft caravan was hand picked by the new owners, and we hope they enjoy their holiday home at Sandy Bay for many years.

The caravan supply market has eased and caravans are much more readily available from dealerships, and with a greater choice. Any one interested in choosing a specific holiday home can now do so.

Key Points to consider when buying a Holiday Home

Things to consider:

  1. Location

Make sure your chosen park is in the right location for you.

Sandy Bay ticks lots of boxes; peaceful location in the countryside, direct access onto the coast, walking distance to the village, easy access into Blackpool, Garstang, Lancaster & beyond.

  • Can you bring your pet?

Nobody wants to leave their furry family member. Double check the park you are looking at accepts pets.

Sandy Bay is Pet Friendly, and benefits from lots of fabulous walks directly from the park.

  • Is the Park child friendly?

This is particularly important if you have young children or grandchildren.

At Sandy Bay children are most welcome, and with the beach on the doorstep there is lots of space to run off steam.

  • Is the Park open when you need it to be?

Check the length of season when you are making enquiries, each park is different and operate different season lengths.

Sandy Bay offers a 50 week season, just closing from 14th-28th February. Ideal for anyone wishing to enjoy the changing seasons in their holiday home.

  • Travelling Time.

This is important to consider when choosing your park location. The ideal distance from home is a 1-2 hour drive. You don’t want to make the journey to your holiday home a chore. A shorter drive time will mean you get the  most use out of your caravan.

  • Can you sub-let?

Find out the parks policy on subletting if this is something you need to do to cover the costs.

There is no subletting at Sandy Bay, ensuring that you will always know who your neighbours are, and you can use your caravan whenever you wish.

  • Can I get Online?

Ask if there is a good WiFi signal. This is almost essential now for entertainment and work purposes. Sandy Bay has a new WiFi system, and benefits from fibre to the property. We have a good strong signal and do not experience dropouts.

Location, Location, Location

Stunning Views….

Sandy Bay occupies a fantastic location. Right on the coast overlooking Morecambe bay, with views over to the Lake District directly in front. Turn to the left and you can see over to Fleetwood. Turn to the right and you can see the beautiful Forest of Bowland. Surrounded by the coast and the countryside, Sandy Bay has the best of both worlds. A fabulous base for those who enjoy walking, birdwatching and nature photography. Sandy Bay really is a great place to own a holiday home.

Autumn is here

Getting ready for winter….

The weather has definitely moved into Autumn now, after trying to trick us with the heat wave at the beginning of September. We are well underway with tidying the park up ready for Winter. All the paths and roads have been neatly edged, and the hedge cutting is underway. The grass is still growing and hopefully we will have a few more dry days to get another cut or two of grass off.

We often get asked by potential owners if they need to do any garden maintenance, such are grass cutting or weeding. The answer is no, we do it all! You needn’t waste any of your precious leisure time, you just need to enjoy the park and relax.

Late Heat Wave

Ferry Rides, Beaches & Sunbathing

Wow, what a week of lovely weather we have been enjoying. Sandy Bay looks splendid bathed in sunshine.

Some of our owners have been enjoying relaxing on their decks in the peace and quiet. Others have strolled into Knott End for a bit to eat, and a amble around the shops.

We enjoyed the ferry ride over to Fleetwood with the children and a play on the beach. There is lots to do in the locality to make the most of this beautiful weather before the season turns to autumn.
